1.      OFFER OF THE MONTH

As our new Offer of the Month, K&K present the first enyclopedia of
Hamburg's music history. "ROCK’N’ROOTS" is a book which is bound
to acquaint even the most hard-core Hamburg connoisseur with many a
novel, weird and curious fact.

The book is a softcover, 346 page affair, lavishly illustrated and highly
informative. It retails at Euro 14.95 plus the usual p&p, and you may
order in writing, by phone, fax or – most conveniently – online from
our K&K Center-of-Beat Shop.

2.     CHICAGO – FEST FOR BEATLE FANS

From 08 until 10 August, the Chicago Hyatt Regency O'Hare Hotel is going
to host the 23rd instalment of the Fest for Beatles Fans (formerly known
as Beatlefest) presented by Mark Lapidos.
Besides various bands and numerous attractions visitors may expect
giant amounts of Beatles merchandise being offered and – naturally, and
as usual – an all-star lineup of speciual guests. First time visitor will
be Pattie Boyd, former wife of George Harrison and Eric Clapton.
Billy J. Kramer is going to appear, the singer with four Lennon/McCartney
hits under his belt, who used to be signed to Brian Epstein, as well as
Neil Innes of the legendary Rutles, accompanied by the band Liverpool.
Furthermore, contributing to the event will be photographer Paul Saltzman
(see K&K online shop) and Ringo Starr’s producer Mark Hudson as well as
many other contemporary witnesses.

Detailed information can be found at
http://thefestforbeatlesfans.com

3.     LIVERPOOL- BEATLE WEEK

The Beatle Week is by far the best time to visit Liverpool for fans of
the Fab Four. From 22 until  28 August once again a multitude of fans
from all over the  world will be joining the pilgrimage to the city
on the Mersey river in order to celebrate the Beatles' music.
The offer is outstanding: The Convention at the venerable Adelphi Hotel,
art exhibitions, flea markets, appearances by contemporary witnesses,
autograph sessions, auctions and concerts featuring more than 200 bands
in the clubs and in the streets of that city.

This, the world's greatest Beatles event, is organised by
Cavern City Tours. Here are just a few names of participating artists:
Denny Laine, The Merseybeats, The Undertakers, Karl Terry & The Cruisers,
Gerry & The Pacemakers, The Merseybeats…

4.     LIVERPOOL – HAYMANS GREEN

The Pete Best Band is now also present at Myspace.

At www.myspace.com/thepetebestband you can hear advance excerpts from the
autobiographical album Haymans Green, which is scheduled for release in
September. Most of the tracks have been written by Pete and his brother Roag.
The lyrics deal with Liverpool, Hamburg, life on the road, the Casbah Club
and the Cavern. Reason enough for great expectations.

5.     HAMBURG – SOUTHERN ROCK

The concert appearance by former Allmann Brothers guitarist Dicky Betts
and his band at Uwe Mamminga's Blues Festival on 13 July on the open air
stage of Landhaus Walter almost did not happen. The band had flown in from
Italy on time, but the instruments had gone missing. Where can you obtain
a Fender Precision Bass and three Gibson Les Paul Standard guitars on a
Sunday afternoon?

From Thomas Weilbier's Number 1 Guitars. Thomas was stuck in traffic,
when he received the distress call. He was still able to get the instruments
delivered on time for the gig. When "Tattoo"-Frank Krabbenhöfft in his
sales booth heard of the problem just solved  he just commented:
"I could have given him three Les Pauls..."
No wonder Frank und Thomas will once again host the fantastic
Vintage Guitar Festival at the HamburgMuseum.

Mark your diary: 11 and 12Oktober!
